Ben&Ben's Miguel and Paolo recover from COVID-19, highlight importance of rest

Miguel Benjamin Guico and Paolo Benjamin Guico, vocalists of folk-pop band Ben&Ben, have recovered from COVID-19.

On Instagram, Miguel shared that they spent the past two weeks in home quarantine, and that it was very challenging for them to stay still.

“We’ve become so attuned to the daily grind of performing, writing, travelling, and recording. At some point, di namin nakita pero hinihingi na pala ng mga katawan namin ang pahinga,” he wrote.

The musician emphasized that it is important to listen to our bodies to understand when it’s time to step back and rest.

“Then we [realized] that life has a natural way of telling us to pause. For those of us (including myself) who have deadlines to chase, families to support, goals to reach, and productivity to maintain, let’s try to listen to our bodies when they tell us to do the thing that’s seemingly impossible[—]let’s pause and rest for a while," he said.

“Hoping that you would have an opportunity to rest when you can. And when that happens, may you come back stronger. I am rooting for you!" he added.

Paolo has likewise recovered, but he shared on his Instagram Stories that his sense of taste has yet to go back to normal.

“Sad pala pag ganun[,] appreciate mo bigla pag nakakatikim ka ng masarap, sanaol," he said.

Ben&Ben has been rescheduling their shows because members have been contracting the virus.

Two weeks ago, the band had to cancel their Surigao gig because Miguel got COVID-19.

Their July 2 show in Santiago, Isabela was moved to July 17 because Paolo and percussionist Toni Munoz tested positive.
