Vilma Santos vows to continue fighting for women's rights after Lualhati Bautista's passing

Vilma Santos expressed her condolences to the family of celebrated novelist and activist Lualhati Bautista, who passed away on Sunday.

On Tuesday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," Vilma took the time to pay tribute to the writer behind some of her most iconic films.

Vilma played the lead roles in films "Bata Bata Paano Ka Ginawa?" and "Dekada '70," which were adapted from Lualhati's novels of the same name.

"Huwag kang mag-aalala, ipagpapatuloy ko 'yung pakikipaglaban para sa karapatan ng mga kababaihan," she said.

Lualhati is known for her advocacy on women's rights. Her literary works explore women's issues and feature strong female protagonists who face difficult situations with dignity.

Lualhati's family is opening her wake to the public on Wednesday, February 15, at St. Peter Chapels in Commonwealth, Quezon City.
