Klea Pineda talks about negative reactions to her sexuality: 'Sayang ka, ang ganda mo'

By GMA Integrated News

Klea Pineda is now out and proud as a lesbian, but her journey towards coming out has not been easy.

On Monday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the "AraBella" star opened up on how she dealt with negative reactions to her sexuality.

While Klea has not been bullied for it, she confirmed to the King of Talk that people often told her it's a waste because of how pretty she is — a big no-no to say to members of the LGBT + community

"Sobrang parati ko naririnig ko 'yan, Tito Boy. 'Sayang ka, ang ganda mo, baka puwede pa.' Very offensive talaga," she said.

"'Yun 'yung bastos na hindi nila nirerespeto kung ano 'yung nararamdaman ko," Klea said.

Klea said she was told that perhaps she can date basketball players instead.

"I can't—as in aalis ako sa conversation na 'yun agad-agad," she said.

Interestingly, Klea dated a former basketball player: Sparkle actor Andre Paras. She also previously dated Jak Roberto and Jeric Gonzales.

Trying to date men, however, made Klea realize that she is really into women.

"'Yung happiness, sobrang kulang. Hindi ko naman sinasabi na hindi ako sumaya sa mga guys na 'to, pero may kulang," she said.

Klea is now dating Katrice Kierulf and introduced her on "Fast Talk." The Kapuso star said she saw Katrice on TikTok and formally met her via a common friend.
