Carla Abellana says that she is so different from her character in ‘Voltes V: Legacy’

In “Voltes V: Legacy,” Carla Abellana plays Mary Ann Armstrong, a scientist and the mother of the Voltes Team’s Steve, Big Bert, and Little Jon.

According to Carla, Mary Ann is “napaka serious, strict, intellectual,” but a loving mother of three boys. She loves how much of a stern disciplinarian her character is but says the female scientist is totally different from how Carla shows love in real life.

“In terms of strictness, medyo malayo si Mary Ann Armstrong sa akin,” the Kapuso superstar answered GMA News Online in a virtual press conference.

“Hindi naman ako yung sobrang strict or yung sobrang stern. In fact, in terms of yung ganyan, parang ako pa nga yung nag-so-spoil,” Carla said.

“I love doing that kasi isa yun sa mga love languages ko, yung basta mang-spoil ako ng taong mahal ko or let's say sa family ko.”

However, Carla and Mary Ann’s similarity comes from being very loving.

“Nakakatuwa na even nasa Camp Big Falcon sila, may times na bumibigay si Mary Ann Armstrong. Nayayakap niya yung mga anak niya, mapapakita pa rin na ah, my gosh, lumalabas yung pagka mother niya,’” she said.

“'Di niya natitiis, yung excitement niya, yung kilig niya, kung gaano siya ka-proud sa mga anak niya,” Carla added. “Kahit naka lab coat siya, kahit scientist mode siya for the day dapat, ay may times na talagang mas yung puso yung lumalabas and that's a nice touch sa mga ganung eksena.”

Before its premiere on GMA Network, “Voltes V: Legacy: The Cinematic Experience” will exclusively be shown in SM Cinemas from April 19 to 25. This film will include material from the first three weeks of the series.

Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Matt Lozano, Radson Flores, and Raphael Landicho agreed that audiences will definitely enjoy this live-action adaptation. — LA, GMA Integrated News
