Here is Martin del Rosario's surprising takeaway from 'Voltes V: Legacy'

Let's admit it, "Voltes V" is really a cool anime series — fun to watch and exciting to see.

So it was rather surprising to hear that Martin del Rosario, who plays the villain Zardos in GMA-7's highly anticipated live-action version "Voltes V:Legacy" picked up something serious from it.

"Bukod sa heroism because yun ang obvious na theme niya, [patriotism] din," Martin said.

"Kasi dito sa 'Voltes V,' willing sila i-buwis yung buhay nila para sa bayan nila," he explained.

"Yung pagmamahal mo sa lahi mo, sa bayan mo," he said trying to remember the word "patriotism," which the King of Talk thankfully supplied him.

He guested on Friday, alongside "Voltes V: Legacy" co-star Liezel Lopez, who plays Zandra his co-villain and romantic interest in the live-action series.
