Vic Sotto breaks silence on the 'Eat Bulaga' issue and his rumored retirement

Vic Sotto has broken his silence on the possible changes on "Eat Bulaga," making a short comment on the fate of the country's longest-running noontime show.

In Nelson Canlas's report on "24 Oras Weekend," Sunday, Bossing said that "'Eat Bulaga' is here to stay."

Vic added that he is not yet retiring from show business.

"Marami pa akong matutulungan. Marami pa akong ma-e-entertain," he said.

This comes amid changes in executives within TAPE Inc., which is the production company behind "Eat Bulaga." Bullet Jalosjos, the Chief Finance Officer of TAPE Inc., said it's a "rebonding" and not a "rebranding."

Bullet also said that the original hosts, Vic, Tito Sotto, and Joey de Leon, will remain on the noontime show

In response, Tito Sotto said on the "Updated with Nelson Canlas" podcast that the statement is "improper."

"Mabibitawan kami ng salita na ire-retain kami. Ha? Para namang napakakawawa namin," he said.

Based on the contract with the TAPE production company, "Eat Bulaga" will continue to air on GMA until at least 2025.

Vic will star on the upcoming sitcom, "Open 24/7," with Maja Salvador and Jose Manalo.
