'Voltes V: Legacy' pays tribute to original anime's ending credits

By GMA Integrated News

"Voltes V: Legacy" had another surprise for fans on its second episode!

The closing credits featured an instrumental version of the anime's original ending song, "Chicho wo Motomete."

The nostalgic theme was originally sung by Ichiro Mizuki

, who died in December.

Even without vocals, fans said the viewing experience was just like in the good old days of the anime.

Others requested for a version with vocals sung by Matt Lozano, who plays Big Bert in the series.

Aside from the music, the first scenes of the closing credits replicated the original, just like how "Volts V: Legacy" recreated some of the scenes of the anime's opening credits.

It began with a shot of the Voltes V robot, followed by each of the main characters posing with their machines.

Steve Armstrong was the first with the Volt Crewzer, followed by Mark Gordon inside the Volt Bomber.

Jamie Robinson sat atop the Volt Lander, while Big Bert and Little Jon appeared together with the Volt Panzer and Volt Frigate.

Directed by Mark Reyes, "Voltes V: Legacy" airs weekdays on GMA Telebabad  at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." It is also livestreamed on YouTube and GMANetwork.com/KapusoStream.
