16 hopefuls enter next round of 'Are you The Next Big Star?'

MANILA, Philippines - After the thorough and meticulous on-air audition of top 40 hopefuls of “Are You the Next Big Star?" only 8 girls and 8 boys have succeeded to enter the next round. The boys are represented by Geoff Taylor, 23-year-old, ex-model from Cagayan Valley; Alex Castro, 23, a public servant from Bulacan; PJ Gonzales, 18, civil engineering student from Pasay City; Bobby Solomon, 17, commercial model from Pasay City; Jay Perillo, 21, a Korean looking rocker from Tondo, Manila; Anton Cruz, 16, conservatory of music student from Quezon City; Greggy Santos, 22, a VJ and a graduate from Ateneo University from Quezon City; and Justin Francis, 19, the Am-boy from San Francisco, California. The girls who may become the next big star include Zyrene Parsad, 23, entertainment host; Aleza Ortega, 19, former TV host for a kiddie show from La Union; Camille Cortez, 19, a lounge singer from Antipolo City; Cara Quiapos, a 16-year-old cutie Batangueña; Frencheska Farr, 19, a stunner from Las Piñas City; Shane Tarun, a freshmen engineering student from Marikina City; Rachel Gabreza, 16, a high school graduate from Cebu City; and Christine Allado, 18, who has theatre acting experience. On the “…Next Big Star" episode this Saturday, candidates should expect more surprises as the five “Big Star" Judges (Randy Santiago, Annie Quintos, Mon Faustino, Danny Tan, and Pops Fernadez) will surely become more strict and meticulous in their performance on the big stage. The circle of 16 should prove that they are worthy of the title since they need to impress not just the special set of jury but also televiewers who will vote for them through text voting.
