Some vendors are cashing in on the outpouring of grief over the death of Comedy King Rodolfo "Dolphy" Vera Quizon, selling souvenir items of the late ace comedian outside a memorial park in Taguig City.

On Thursday, many of the vendors sold items ranging from T-shirts to button pins and stickers, according to a report by radio dzBB's Glen Juego.

The vendors positioned themselves outside the Heritage Park in Taguig, shortly after a chapel there was opened for the public viewing of Dolphy's remains.

A souvenir T-shirt with the message "I Love Dolphy" sold for P150. A similarly priced shirt has the message "Pidol, Philippine Idol."

Shirts with a black-and-white cartoon of Dolphy sold for P130 each, while colored versions sold for P180 each, the report said.

Button pins with the message, "Dolphy Mahal Kita" sold for P35 each, or buyers can buy three for P100.

Dolphy-themed stickers also sold for P50 each.

The report quoted some vendors as saying they produced only 500 shirts for Thursday, to test public response, and would produce more if the demand is high.

Dolphy died Tuesday night at the Makati Medical Center at age 83. His remains were brought to the Heritage Park.
