Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero on Wednesday denied that he and his girlfriend, actress Heart Evangelista, are planning to get married anytime soon. In an interview with reporters, Escudero, who is running for re-election in next month's midterm elections, said he was only joking with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy when he told him to officiate his marriage with Heart. "Nagbiburuan lamang kami noon at kung meron mang balak (magpakasal) siguro dapat siya (Heart) unang makaalam hindi kayo," he told reporters, adding any couple want their relationship to be lasting. Escudero's relationship with Heart recently became rocky when her parents, at a press conference last month, denounced him and asked him to leave their daughter alone. The two, however, decided to keep their relationship. Escudero described this as the biggest challenge their relationship faced. “Hindi maikakaila ito na siguro ang pinakamatinding pagsubok at hamon na pinagdadaanan namin bilang magkaugnayan at magkarelasyon," he said. Despite this, the senator is still hopeful that everything will be settled with Heart's parents. "Sana maayos,” he said. Escudero, however, apologized to the public that his personal issues were brought into the spotlight. Sino ba naman ang may gusto n'un?" he said. — Kimberly Jane Tan/KBK, GMA News
