Hayley Atwell, in her own words, will miss ComicCon Asia due to scheduling issues


 

 

Actress Hayley Atwell says she is unable to attend the Comic Convention in Manila this weekend with a special message for Filipino fans.

In a post on her Instagram account, Atwell said that she was looking forward to attending the convention but is unable to because of scheduling issues.

"I was looking forward to visiting your beautiful country and meeting you all. Unfortunately the changes to my work schedule have nade it impossible for me to travel so far ar this time," she said.

Atwell promised to keep her fans updated on her latest projects.

"I hope to see you at future conventions soon. Magkaroon ng isang magandang weekend," she said.

"My statement. My own words. thank you to the people who have corrected my translation. I’m now lead to believe I should have said ‘magandang weekend mag kaibigan’ or ‘kita-kits’ xxx," she added.

ComicCon earlier posted that Atwell would be unable to attend the convention in Manila due to "political unrest."

In a message sent to the organizers, Atwell said that "she is not comfortable making the trip" to the Philippines due to the "perceived 'political unrest in the country'."

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, was asked for a comment.

“Her loss and who’s she?” Roque said in a message to reporters.

Atwell appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger as Agent Carter. She later starred as the lead in the Marvel TV series "Agent Carter."

She is set to star opposite Ewan McGregor in Disney's "Christopher Robin." — BAP, GMA News
