Ateneo Blue Eagles’s point guard Chris Tiu is the newest addition to the Kapuso roster, Showbiz Central reported Sunday. Tiu will be hosting a show with Filipino boxing idol Manny Pacquiao, according to GMA Network executives. “The show will be very interesting. It is not just about sports but really about very unique Pinoy achievements," said Annette Gozon-Abrogar, GMA Films president. The cager, in a taped interview, said he is excited with the project. “Ako excited ako ngayon with Manny so I’m looking forward to working with him in the new show," he said. Tiu added: “As of now mga hosting-hosting muna. Ako kahit sino (makasama ko), flexible naman ako. I’m a very friendly person. I get along with anyone." Abrogar spoke highly of Chris. “Si Chris kasi is a celebrity already in his own right. (He is) slowly becoming a sports icon. He’s very intelligent and he speaks very well so parang maganda siyang maging part ng media. I also think he shares good values na bagay na bagay sa GMA so he’s a very welcome addition to the Kapuso roster." “Aside from his being a sportsman, makikita mo maganda siya magsalita, ang ganda ng personality and he’s very popular. ‘Yun naman ‘yung hinahanap natin di ba para magkaroon na naman ng bagong idol at bagong role model ang viewers natin," Wilma Galvante, GMA senior vice president for entertainment, said. Tiu, playing in his fourth-year with the Blue Eagles, was named as one of The First Mythical Team in the 2007 Collegiate Basketball Awards held last month. - GMANews.TV
