Donita Rose says she volunteers to take out trash, wipe tables as corporate chef in US: 'I love what I do'

Donita Rose may now be a corporate chef in the US, but she still does the hard and gritty work!

In the latest video of The Wonder Mamas, Donita told LJ Moreno-Alapag at Rufa Mae Quinto that in her new job, she's her own boss and she can do whatever she wants.

"I can work from home, just deliver what I need to deliver," she said.

Her immediate boss, Maricel Aguilar, also told her, "Do whatever you want, [as long as you] give me your deliverables."

However, Donita said that she works "really hard," to the point where she'd volunteer to do tasks that aren't originally hers.

"Nagugulat ang mga Pinoy dito, ako naglalabas ng basura. Ako nagda-dump sa dumpster. Hindi ko trabaho ‘yon, pero I do it," she said. “Nagpupunas ako ng mga table."

("The Pinoys here get surprised, I'm the one who takes out the trash. I dump it in the dumpster. That's not my job, but I do it. I wipe tables.")

“I love what I do, but it’s really really hard... physical," she added.

Last April, Donita announced that she's now a corporate chef for Island Pacific, a chain of supermarkets in America that sell fresh meat, produce, and groceries with a specialization in Filipino cuisine.

She said that she promotes modern Filipino cuisine in 15 of the company's restaurant branches and is in charge of developing new recipes. —JCB, GMA News
