Lolit Solis posts bail for libel case

MANILA, Philippines - Entertainment writer Lolit Solis and Veronica Samio, former Pilipino Star Ngayon entertainment editor, posted bail Wednesday for the P12-million libel case filed by actors Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby. QTV’s Balitanghali reported that Solis and Samio paid P10,000 each. Solis said she was not aware that the case has prospered and was already filed in court. She said she learned about it only from a television news report. “Nagulat kami na may resolusyon na. Na-shock kami na alam na ng iba, kami wala pang papel (We were surprised that there was already a resolution. We were shock that others already learned about it but we still haven't received a copy of the complaint," Solis said. The lawsuit stemmed from an article written by Solis in her column "Take It, Take It" last October 15. She wrote that she saw Pascual and Milby together at a hotel in Manila on October 12. The actors denied that they were together. "We are suing because our dignity and integrity have been assailed," said Pascual in an earlier statement. "She has disrespected us as colleagues and human beings and the only way left to restore this respect is through the courts of law," he said. Amita Legaspi, GMANews.TV
