A young Spanish woman of Filipino descent was casted in the first season of “Dreamland,” Spain's TV musical series equivalent of American hit show “Glee.”

The 22-year-old Alexandra Masangkay Escalona plays the role of one of the students chosen to study in Dreamland, a place where talents in singing, dancing, and acting are honed.

In her latest tweet as of posting time, Escalona said in Spanish “Today to see the last chapter of dreamland.”

“Dreamland's” first episode, which was produced by Mediaset España aired on Cuatro network last March.

Aside from this, Escalona competed in the Spanish version of Americal Idol in 2011, where she was part of the top 16 finalists.

After her stint in the reality TV show her singing career picked up and she was able to release her debut single titled “Are You Fast Enough?” last year.

Escalona was born and raised in Barcelona with both her parents originating from Batangas, Philippines. — Andrei Medina/VC, GMA News
