‘Best Villain’ winner Angelina Jolie gives inspiring speech at Kids’ Choice Awards

Green slime spewed in all directions at the Kids Choice Awards on Saturday (March 28), where host Nick Jonas, the cast of sitcom 'Modern Family' and comedic actor Josh Gad ended up drenched in green slime.

Academy Award-winning actress Angelina Jolie, who made headlines this week after announcing she underwent preventative surgery to remove her ovaries, took home the award for Favorite VIllain for her role as "Maleficent."

She had an inspiring message for young people in her acceptance speech.

"Thank yo so much to all the kids who voted. I want to say that when I was little, like 'Maleficent,' I was told that I was different and I felt out of place and too loud, too full of fire, never good at sitting still, never good at fitting in. And then one day I realized something, something I hope you all realize. Different is good," said Jolie.

Emma Stone took home the award for Favorite Movie Actress. She was not slimed, but put her hands in slime as she walked on stage to pick up her award.

"Thank you guys so much. I just had to put my hands in some slime. I had the opportunity, I had to do it so I am very slimy. This is so cool, Nickelodeon is the absolute best. I'm sorry I have that wrong, you guys are the absolute best," said Stone.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson thanked Nickleodeon for not sliming him and his cast mates as they accepted their award for Favorite Family TV Show. The cast was immediately slimed on stage.

Other stars who ended up green with slime include singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes, actor Josh Gad and the cast of "The Thundermans," who were voted on by fans to ride in the first ever slime car wash.

Jonas was slimed by presenter Jennifer Lopez after picking up his orange award for Favorite Male Singer.

Winners who were not present to accept their awards in person include One Direction for Favorite Music Group, Selena Gomez for Favorite Female Singer and Jennifer Lawrence for Favorite Female Action Star for her roles in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part I" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
