"Chromatica" was originally set to be released last April 10 but was postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

In a separate Instagram post, she wrote, "It just doesn't feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic. Instead I prefer that we spend this time focusing on finding solutions."
