Chris Hemsworth thanks fans for making ’Extraction’ No. 1

Chris Hemsworth is grateful to everyone who made his new action-thriller “Extraction” a massive hit since it premiered on Netflix last month.

In a short video he posted on Instagram, the actor also responded to the apparent clamor for a follow-up to the film in the future.

Extraction is about a fearsome mercenary named Tyler Rake who goes on a deadly mission to rescue a notorious crime lord’s kidnapped son.

The film quickly became one of the top movies on Netflix after premiering last April 24 on the streaming platform.

“Just wanna say a massive thank you to everyone who checked out Extraction. You’ve made it the number one film on the planet right now. Looks like it’s gonna be Netflix’s biggest feature film of all time,” Chris said in the video he posted over the weekend.

The actor said he was “absolutely blown away” by the response, and so were Sam Hargave and the Russo brothers who directed and produced the film.

“Thank you so, so much. We love you guys,” Chris said.

Chris also addressed some speculation about “sequels and prequels and all sorts of things,” saying he would be “pretty stoked” with all the love Extraction has been getting.

“There’s been a lot of talk about or questions about sequels and prequels and all sorts of things, and all I can say is ‘Who knows?’ But with this kind of support, it’s something I’d be pretty stoked to jump back into,” he said.
