Ryan Reynolds crashes Hugh Jackman’s virtual 'X-men' reunion with James McAvoy and Sophie Turner

Hugh Jackman and the cast of the original “X-men” trilogy had a virtual reunion as part of Global Citizen's celebration to honor the heroic acts of healthcare workers in the fight against COVID-19.

Twenty years have passed since the first movie, but here they were — Wolverine (Jackman), Storm (Halle Berry), Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), and Dr. Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) — catching up with each other on Zoom.

Everything was going great, until "Deadpool" actor Ryan Reynolds, who starred in "X-Men: Origins,” suddenly entered the call.

Everybody looked less than pleased when Reynolds entered the chat — presumably a reference to Reynolds making fun of X-men characters in his own movie "Deadpool."

Magneto actor Ian McKellen, who was unfortunately not on video, even dropped the call early as soon as he arrived.

And just when things couldn’t get any crazier, Sophie Turner and James McAvoy entered the call.

Sophie apologized, saying: “Oh, sorry I actually thought this was the ‘Game of Thrones’ reunion,” and immediately dropped out.

Everyone followed Turner's lead and made excuses, with Stewart saying he had a “Star Trek reunion” to get to, while McAvoy saying he had one for “Split."

The video ended with Jackman being stuck with Reynolds and Liev Schrieber, who played Sabretooth in "Origins."

The actor suddenly joined the chat, yelling: "'X-Men: Origins,' reunite!"

The “X-men” were catching up as part of non-profit organization Global Citizen's celebration of everyday superheroes and the heroic acts of healthcare workers in the face of a pandemic.

“Thanks to all the true superheroes fighting for a safer, healthier and more equitable world,” a message at the end of the video said. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
