More Spice Girls reunions after the pandemic? Melanie C would love to see it

Seeing all the Spice Girls together on their reunion tour last year left many of us wanting more, and that includes Melanie C a.k.a. Sporty Spice.

In an exclusive interview with GMA News Online, the 46-year-old singer shared she would actually love to do more reunion shows with her bandmates in the future.

“I do! I hope to see many Spice Girls reunions,” Mel told us over Zoom.

“We had the most incredible time on stage on 2019. We did 13 stage show in UK and the show was amazing. The audience were absolutely incredible. And I personally would love to take that show all over the world,” she added.

In fact, Mel said the Spice Girls had talked about doing another reunion but, like many music gigs slated for 2020, setting such a big date isn’t the easiest thing to do during a pandemic.

“We are talking about doing it in the future,” Mel said.

“Obviously, with the pandemic it’s impossible to make any firm plans. We just know it’s something we’d like to do when the time is right,” she added.

In the meantime, Melanie C would love her Filipino fans to listen to her new self-titled album which was released while millions of people all around the world have been confined to their homes to keep safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I absolutely love it,” the British pop singer-songwriter said.

“It’s full of great poppy dance hits with great messages and empowerments. There’s fantastic videos on YouTube. And I hope to be making lots more new music in the coming year,” she added.

Formed in 1994, the Spice Girls include Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice) and Geri Horner, formerly Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice).

The British pop girl group became an international sensation with hits like “Wannabe” and “Say You’ll Be There,” which topped charts across the globe.

In 2019, the Spice Girls (minus Victoria Beckham) showed the world that they still got it by doing a much-awaited reunion tour across the UK. – RC, GMA News
