Your year-end playlist needs to be extra lit to counter all the negative stuff that happened in 2020, so how about a little song suggestion from a former Spice Girl?

Melanie C a.k.a. Sporty Spice just sat down with GMA News Online for a virtual interview and she talked about how music had been helping her cope during the pandemic.

“I think this year has been a challenging time for us all, hasn’t it? I know personally for me, there’s been time that I felt very low and very hopeless, you know. Almost trapped, as well, having this lockdown and not being able to travel like I love to,” the 46-year-old British pop icon said.

“I mean, I found music as a great way sometimes to really indulge [and deal with] painful feelings, but that it’s also great to kind of distract yourself ... And music can make you feel so much better,” she added.

Since Melanie C just released a self-titled album, we asked her which of her songs she thought would be best to listen to, given everything that had been going on this year.

“[If I were to] choose a song from my new album, I would say— ‘In and Out of Love’!” the singer said.

“Because, for me, it’s the most fun track in the album and it’s about going out, it’s about having fun, it’s about finding moments on the dance floor. And that’s what I think we need to do. We need to look to the future when we can live our lives to the full again!” she added.
