Blackpink's agency YG Entertainment accepting online applications for the next boy group

YG Entertainment, the agency handling Blackpink, BigBang, iKon, among others, is looking for the next boy group.

Soompi reported YG's Monday official announcement saying the agency is accepting online applications for a new boy group. They're calling it the "2021 YG New Boy Group Audition at Home" and it is open to singers from all over the world.

According to the report, any male who is born between 2002 to 2010 and is not affiliated with another agency is eligible to apply.

Soompi said for the first step of the audition, aspirants will be asked to fill out a brief form to choose the audition date and language they prefer (available in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese languages.)

Applicants will then verify the date and time of their audition in the confirmation mail.

All of the auditions will be held via Zoom and the results are to be announced on June 12.

Soompi said only those who have passed the final round will receive a notification and be given the opportunity to join YG's new boy group debut team.

The application period is from April 12 to May 23, 2021 while the video audition period is from April 19 to May 30, 2021.
