Fil-Am singer H.E.R. and Tauren Wells greet their Kapuso fans

Kapuso viewers watching "Unang Hirit" on Tuesday got a surprise greeting from Grammy and Oscar award-winning singer-songwriter H.E.R. as well as her friend, Christian rock star Tauren Wells.

"Kumusta, my Filipinos? Kumusta, mga Kapuso?" The Fil-Am artist said.

After a brief introduction, H.E.R. and Tauren said they had just filmed the music video for their inspiring new single, "Hold Us Together."

"I hope you love it as much as we loved making it," Tauren said.

"Ingat! Salamat po (Take care! And thank you)," H.E.R. added.

H.E.R., also known as Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson, grew up in Vallejo, California to a Filipino mother and a Black American father.

Her song "I Can't Breathe" was awarded as Song of the Year during the Grammys last March.

In late April, she also won the best original song Oscar for her song "Fight For You," making her the first Filipina-American to win the Best Original Song trophy in the Academy Awards.

She and Tauren released the official music video for their new single "Hold Us Together" last April 30. Watch it here:
