Kim Seon Ho’s agency shuts down rumors about his contract, says it’s staying with actor ‘until the end’

Kim Seon Ho's agency SALT Entertainment has shut down the rumors regarding the actor's contract.

According to a Soompi report on Friday, the agency said Seon Ho had a full year left on his contract and the rumor connecting his recent controversy to his contract renewal negotiations was false.

"The rumor about his contract expiring in September is groundless and completely untrue," the agency said. "Contract renewal negotiations typically start when there are three months left on a contract, but [Kim Seon Ho] currently has a year left to go, so it isn't even time for us to be negotiating a contract renewal yet."

After the controversy involving his former girlfriend erupted, rumors started to circulate online that his contract with Salt Entertainment expired in September and he was negotiating for a renewal.

According to the report, an anonymous individual who claimed to be an acquaintance of Seon Ho said the agency had conspired with his ex-girlfriend to create issues for the actor.

SALT Entertainment also emphasized that it intended to stick with the actor until the end.

"We will be staying with [Kim Seon Ho] until the end," it said.

On Oct. 18, the same day his hit drama series "Hometown Cha Cha Cha" aired its last episode, reports were released about an anonymous woman hiding under the name "A" who posted in an online community that actor "K" forced her to have an abortion on the false promise of marriage.

Although the post did not mention any names, many speculated that the actor was Kim Seon Ho.

The following day, Salt Entertainment issued a statement saying it was conducting an investigation on the issue.

On Wednesday, Seon Ho released through the agency an apology for his ex-girlfriend and everyone who supported him, without confirming nor denying the accusations.

The actor said he was "seeing her with good emotions. In that process, I hurt her due to my carelessness and inconsiderate actions."

Following his apology, Seon Ho, who rose to fame with his role in the 2020 hit series "Start-Up," left the KBS variety entertainment program "2 Days & 1 Night" Season 4. He was also removed from two of his upcoming films.

It was also reported that several brands endorsed by the actor had removed him from their official channels.

On Friday, the ex-girlfriend issued an apology after her exposé. She said she had received an apology and "there were some parts that were a misunderstanding."

According to a Soompi report, the anonymous woman's lawyers said she would be taking legal action against death threats and invasions on her privacy. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
