Joshua Bassett tells his side of story through three newly-released singles

After months of waiting, fans can finally hear Joshua Bassett's side of the story.

On Friday, the "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" actor released three highly anticipated singles along with music videos that documented his own version of events following Olivia Rodrigo's "drivers license."

With "Crisis," "Secret," and "Set Me Free," Joshua sings of reaching out to someone at the other end of a broken relationship and calling them out for only telling half of the truth.

In the lyrics of "Crisis," he reveals he received death threats from fans and heard about it from his own mother.

In "Secret," he seemingly made a "Good 4 U" reference saying, "Good for you foolin' everyone. You had me tricked for 16 months."

According to a PEOPLE report on Friday

, Joshua's songs seemingly addressed his past relationship with former co-star Olivia who also seemed to sing about him on her debut album "Sour."

"While it's been one of the most challenging periods in my lifetime by far; it has ultimately led to immense growth," he said in a press release.

The report also shared that Joshua will be giving 100% of earnings from his "Crisis" single to mental health organizations in perpetuity.

Apart from playing an on-screen couple for Disney+'s  "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series," Olivia and Joshua were rumored to be romantically involved offstage as well.

However, the two appear to have split up and Joshua was soon romantically linked to Sabrina Carpenter who also stars in Disney's “Girl Meets World."

Earlier this year, Olivia released "drivers license" which fans believed to be inspired by a love triangle between the singer and her co-stars Joshua Bassett and Sabrina Carpenter. — LA, GMA News
