Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins passes away at 50

Taylor Hawkins, the drummer of rock band Foo Fighters, has passed away at 50 years old.

The band announced the news on their social media pages.

 

 

 

"The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins," their statement said.

"His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever," they added.

According to Rolling Stone, Foo Fighters are currently on tour in South America and were preparing to perform in Bogota, Colombia.

Hawkins joined Foo Fighters in 1997 after the band's original drummer William Goldsmith left due to conflicts with the other members.

Prior to that, Hawkins was the drummer for the band Sylvia, and was the touring drummer for Alanis Morissette.

In 2004, he formed his own band, Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders. —JCB, GMA News
