Jungkook of BTS clarifies group 'hiatus': 'We are not disbanding'

Following BTS's announcement that they will be taking a break from group activities, member Jungkook went live to clarify some misunderstandings.

In a V Live broadcast on Wednesday evening, the singer stated, "We're not disbanding. We're not going on hiatus."

He added that all seven members will still be filming their reality show "Run BTS" and that they still had, and will have, a lot of schedules together.

However, as they were all tired, focusing on their solo work would be their way to recharge.

"I promise you, we have absolutely no plan to disband," he said. "BTS is forever."

during their ninth anniversary dinner, which was aired on their YouTube channel on Monday.

They expressed burn out after nine years of tirelessly working and producing songs, and said they planned to take this time to grow individually before coming back together as a group.

J-Hope said this would be the start of BTS's "second chapter." "I think BTS could become a stronger group that way."

Jimin added, "If you’d take our words as they are, that would be great."

Their label later vowed they will actively support the members' individual activities.

BTS released last week their anthology album "Proof," which featured 48 songs including the lead single “Yet To Come” as well as their past title tracks and some unreleased demo versions. —JCB, GMA News
