B-MEG's James Yap (right) tries to get past the defense of Talk 'N Text's Ryan Reyes.
B-MEG top gunner James Yap expects the Talk 'N Text defense will shift to him Friday night when his Llamados try to close out the PBA Commissioner's Cup best-of-seven finals series. "Expect the defense to be physical in the finals. I am sure Talk 'N Text will study and review what I've done in Game Five. I'm just going to be prepared," said Yap following B-MEG's 82-66 win Wednesday. The Llamados hold a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven title series and can end the Tropang Texters' title defense bid with another win Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. "I'll remind my teammates to be prepared and to never relax against Talk 'N Text. This is the finals, you have to double your effort every game," Yap added. Yap said the Llamados should not relax against a champion team like the Texters. "They (Talk 'N Text) won't go down without a fight. We must prepare to defend their wingmen, they have great slashers." The former University of the East King Red Warrior said he doesn't mind if he has a bad shooting night. "When it comes to this kind of situation you should not be discouraged. I don't mind if I'm not the leading scorer as long as I help the team win." "There are other ways that you can do to help the team win aside from shooting and scoring points," Yap said. — JVP, GMA News
