NBA: Antawn Jamison signs with the Lakers for the vet's minimum

Sources tell Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports that free agent forward Antawn Jamison has agreed to a one-year deal worth the veteran's minimum with the Los Angeles Lakers, bolstering the bench of the storied NBA franchise.

The Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnel had previously reported that Jamison chose the Lakers over his hometown Charlotte Bobcats, with the Brooklyn Nets also in the mix. He allegedly turned down a two-year, $8 million deal from the Bobcats to play with LA. Jamison gets reunited with head coach Mike Brown, who coached him for a season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, back when LeBron James was still part of the team. During that season, Jamison was a late addition at the trade deadline from the Washington Wizards. Despite his age of 36-years-old, he alumnus of the University of North Carolina was still productive, averaging 17.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.8 steals in 65 games with Cleveland during the 2011-12 season.
