PBA: National team head coach Chot Reyes reproaches Japeth Aguilar on Twitter

Former Talk 'N Text and now Gilas head coach Chot Reyes took to Twitter on Monday, to deliver some "fatherly advice" to his ex-player Japeth Aguilar, hitting out at him for a reported trade demand.

In a report on Spin.ph, Aguilar communicated a trade request to Talk 'N Text, which currently holds his rights, via his agent Marvin Espiritu, who said that the 6'9" big man was frustrated over a lack of playing time when he was last in the PBA.

Reyes tweeted out the following pieces of advice:

1. It's not good to publicly demand to be traded, esp due to playing time, ESP when ur team just won d title. This smacks of selfishness

Under Reyes in the 2011-12 season of the PBA, Aguilar normed 6.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 15.4 minutes per game. Reyes had also recently wanted Aguilar to join the national team for tune-up tournaments in Dubai and Hong Kong.

Aguilar had been drafted in November by the NBA-DL's Santa Cruz Warriors, but failed to make the team's final roster, although he stuck with the squad as a practice player.

Despite not having Aguilar on hand, his former team, Talk 'N Text won their third straight Philippine Cup title earlier in the month. - AMD, GMA News
