PBA: Casio, Baguio click as Alaska annihilates Blackwater

The Alaska Aces leaned on a strong start to cruise to a 106-80 victory against the Blackwater Elite on Tuesday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Romeo Travis paced Alaska with 18 points and 12 rebounds while hitting 63 percent of his shots. Jayvee Casio also had a solid outing, hitting 13 points off a perfect clip. Cyrus Baguio rounded up the starters in double figures with 12 markers.

The Aces went up 14 at the half, 55-41, before unloading 30 in the third while limiting the Elite to just 17. At the final turn, Alaska found themselves comfortably ahead, 85-58. Blackwater offered little resistance in the payoff period, virtually matching their opponent's output for the final score.

Blackwater relied heavily on Marcus Douthit. The Gilas mainstay delivered 28 points and 16 rebounds, but accounted for six turnovers. Bam Gamalinda was the only other starter in double figures with 10, as JP Erram, Brian Heruela and Val Acuna combined for just 11.

Sunday Salvacion came off the bench for the Elite to score nine points, while Reil Cervantes added seven. - RAF, GMA News
