UAAP games on Saturday suspended due to Ompong

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) on Friday said it will suspend its events on Saturday, September 15, due to the possible effects of Typhoon Ompong.

"After due consultation and considering what appears to be a severe weather disturbance, the UAAP deems it best for everyone's  interests to cancel the basketball games tomorrow Saturday," said UAAP Season 81 president Nilo Ocampo.

Games scheduled for Saturday include Ateneo vs. FEU at 2 p.m., and Adamson vs. La Salle at 4 p.m., both at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Also suspended are the women's basketball games between UST and La Salle at 8 a.m. and Adamson and NU at 10 a.m.

The UAAP Chess tournament is likewise suspended.
