UAAP suspends games scheduled on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018 due to Ompong

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) on Saturday said events scheduled on Sunday, September 16, will be reset to another date due to Typhoon Ompong.

A message from UAAP Pres Nilo Ocampo:

As Typhoon Ompong ravages Northern Luzon, and affecting Metro Manila as well with heavy rains, tomorrow's games (September 16, 2018) will likewise be reset to another date. Thank you and stay safe. #UAAPSeason81

"As Typhoon Ompong ravages Northern Luzon, and affecting Metro Manila as well with heavy rains, tomorrow's games (September 16, 2018) will likewise be reset to another date. Thank you and stay safe," said UAAP President Nilo Ocampo.

The new schedule for the games have yet to be announced.

Saturday's games were also suspended due to Ompong.

Intermittent rains have continued over Metro Manila and nearby provinces as Typhoon Ompong  rammed through northern Luzon Saturday moning.

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 is currently raised over Metro Manila, while Signal No. 3 was raised over 11 areas as Typhoon Ompong passed over Laoag City. —Jessica Bartolome/KG, GMA News
