LeBron James expresses grief over death of Kobe Bryant

A day after the death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi on Monday, LeBron James took to Instagram to express his grief over losing his Laker brother.

Posting a series of photos of moments in the court, LeBron shared he couldn't help but cry whenever he starts thinking about Kobe, his daughter Gigi, and the brotherhood he shared with the NBA legend.

"I’m not ready but here I go. Man I sitting here trying to write something for this post but every time I try, I begin crying again just thinking about you, niece Gigi and the friendship/bond/brotherhood we had!" he began.

The NBA star player said he "literally just heard your voice Sunday morning before I left Philly to head back to LA. Didn’t think for one bit in a million years that would be the last conversation we’d have."

He said he feels heartbroken and devastated. "Man I love you, big bro. My heart goes to Vanessa and the kids.

"I promise you, I’ll continue your legacy man! You mean so much to us all here specially #LakerNation and it’s my responsibility to put this shit on my back and keep it going!!"

After asking Kobe to give him strength, LeBron ended his note abruptly, admitting "there's so much more I want to say but just can’t right now because I can’t get through it! Until we meet again my brother!!"

He used two hashtags: #Mamba4Life  #Gigi4Life.

Kobe's last tweet before his death was dedicated to Lebron, congratulating him for edging him out of the third place on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

"Continuing to move the game forward @KingJames. Much respect my brother," read Kobe's last tweet.

LeBron achieved 33,655 career points becoming the new third highest scorer in NBA history, which leaves 18-time NBA all-star Kobe at the fourth place with 33,643 points.

After spending 20 years with NBA's Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe retired in 2016.
