Calvin Abueva's wife appeals to PBA to lift The Beast's suspension

Calvin Abueva's wife pleaded to the Philippine Basketball Association to allow The Beast to return to playing for Phoenix this season.

Abueva has been suspended indefinitely since June last year after two separate incidents involving TNT Katropa import Terrence Jones and Ray Parks' girlfriend Maika Rivera.

PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial said he has talked to the Phoenix forward about what he still needs to do. He added that once this task has been completed, he will elevate the matter to the PBA board.

But according to Sam, Abueva's wife, they do not know what the former NCAA Most Valuable Player has to do in order for his suspension to be lifted by the league.

"Gusto ko lang sana malaman kung ano po ba ang basehan kung bakit hangang ngayon hindi parin nakakalaro ang asawa ko," Sam wrote on Instagram. "Hindi pa ba sapat ang 9 na buwan para sa parusa na binigay niyo?"

Sam said the PBA should make the process of lifting Abueva's suspension public so the fans would be aware of the situation.

"Mas magandang malaman ng lahat ang mga hakban[g] or paglilitis na sinasabi niyo kung bakit ganito katagal," she said.

Sam said her husband learned many lessons from his suspension in the PBA and already changed his behavior. She is hoping that Abueva will be given another chance.

"Sana maintindihan nyo may 5 kami anak na binubuhay," she said. "Hindi naman pwede naka hang lang kami hindi namin alam saan to papunta." —MGP, GMA News
