Barangay Ginebra, Phoenix, TNT, San Miguel Beer claim twice-to-beat bonus in Philippine Cup quarters

The playoffs picture of the Philippine Basketball Association's Philippine Cup has been set.

Barangay Ginebra (1st), Phoenix (2nd), TNT (3rd), and San Miguel Beer (4th) made it to the top of the standings and claimed a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.

Meralco (5th), Alaska (6th), Magnolia (7th), and Rain or Shine (8th) completed the cast of the playoffs, which will begin on Friday.

Top seed Gin Kings will go against the Elasto Painters, while the Beermen will face the Bolts. On Saturday, Tropang Giga will see action against the Aces while the Fuelmasters will play the Hotshots.

Matchups which need one more game will play again on Sunday or Monday.

From there, the four winners of each pairing will enter the best-of-five semifinals which will start next Wednesday. The finals will still be a best-of-seven series.

NLEX, NorthPort, Blackwater, and Terrafirma have been eliminated from the playoffs and will exit the bubble. —Justin Kenneth Carandang/MGP, GMA News
