E-Gilas falls short against Australia in FIBA Esports Open II finals


The Gilas Pilipinas esports team fell short against Australia in the FIBA Esports Open II Finals held on Sunday. 

Australia swept E-Gilas in the best-of-three finals series, 62-54 in the first match, and 69-54 in the deciding game.

Prior to the finals, the Philippines was at the top spot of the Southeast Asia/Oceania classification where Indonesia is also included.

 

 

The FIBA esports team is composed of Rocky Braña, Philippe Herrero IV, Clark Banzon, Arnie Sison, Aljon Cruzin, Rial Polog Jr., and Custer Galas.

The Philippines reigned supreme over the Southeast Asia conference during the inaugural edition of the tournament last June.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia won against Lebanon to be crowned as Middle East conference champs while Cote d'Ivoire defeated Gabon for the African conference title. —KG, GMA News
