Calvin Abueva is heading to a new team for the upcoming season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

In a report posted in the league’s website on Wednesday, the PBA said it approved a trade deal sending Abueva to the Magnolia Hotshots in exchange for Chris Banchero.

As part of the package, Magnolia will also acquire Phoenix’s first round pick.

Aside from Banchero, Phoenix will also get Magnolia’s first and second round picks in the upcoming PBA draft scheduled on March 14.

Almost two months prior to the trade, Abueva signed a 3-year contract with the Fuel Masters.

Banchero, meanwhile, was shipped to Magnolia from Alaska in 2019. He listed 11.00 markers and 3.09 boards per game at the end of the bubble’s eliminations. – RC, GMA News
