Thirdy Ravena scores 14 in San-En loss, exits game late after injury scare

Thirdy Ravena scored 14 points in a tough loss for the San-En Neophoenix, 94-87, against the Shiga Lakestars in the Japan Professional Basketball League (B. League) on Saturday.

However, the Filipino guard suffered an injury scare late after he was hit in the head by an elbow from former NBA player Jordan Hamilton with less than two minutes left in the game.

Ravena lay on the floor for several seconds, before eventually getting up, but was taken out of the game and did not return. He exited at the 1:28 mark of the final period.

Hamilton led the Lakestars with 34 points, 6 rebounds, and 11 assists. He dominated for his team in the fourth quarter, where he scored 18 points, including five three-pointers. With the win, Shiga now has an 18-32 card.

Meanwhile, Kyle Hunt scored 26 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for San-En, which dropped down to an 11-41 record.

Ravena, in just his fourth game back since returning from an injury that kept him out for over two months, had one of his better outings in this one. He shot 5-for-8 from the field, and showed some of his ability to finish at the rim.

He also played with effort on defense, which translated into opportunities for his team on the other end.
