Kai Sotto works out with ex-NBA player Amar'e Stoudemire

Kai Sotto is staying on the grind as he charts his next steps for his basketball career.

On his Instagram Stories, Thursday, Kai reposted a video of him working out with former NBA player Amar'e Stoudemire.

The clip was originally posted by Felix Flores, the owner of sports performance facility The Miami Perimeter.

Sotto, 18, moved to the United States with his family in 2019 to pursue his NBA dream.

He joined the NBA G League select team Ignite

last year together with other draft prospects such as Filipino-American player Jalen Green.

In February, he parted ways with Ignite after traveling to the Philippines to play in the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers, which eventually got scrapped due to the pandemic.

According to Gilas Pilipinas program director Tab Baldwin, Sotto impressed during his brief stint in the training bubble with the national team.

The teen eventually returned to the United States as the COVID-19 situation continues to disrupt international basketball competition.
