Fil-Am Chanelle Molina joins WNBA's Indiana Fever training camp

Filipino-American guard Chanelle Molina is now in the training camp of Indiana Fever as she starts to vie for a spot in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).

The Fever posted Molina's photos in their social media accounts on Sunday with the caption "Opportunity awaits."

Molina is among the 20 participants in the training camp. From the 20, only 12 will be given roster spots.

In February, Molina said it has always been her goal to play in the WNBA, and hopes to be the first Filipina to do so.

"There are not many Filipino women in the WNBA, so this is for the progress of women’s basketball all over the world," Molina said in an Instagram post.

Prior to Indiana, Molina also played for the Norrköping Dolphins in Sweden's Basketligan, and for Washington State University during her collegiate years. She was included in the WNBA's 2020 draft pool, however, Molina went undrafted. — LA, GMA News
