Kiefer Ravena, Shiga get payback with 31-point rout of Ray Parks' Nagoya

The Shiga Lakestars got some payback against the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins after scoring a 110-79 blowout win on Sunday in the Japan Professional Basketball League (B.League).

Nagoya defeated Shiga by 39 points, 107-68, in the teams’ first clash on Saturday but the Lakestars flipped the script in this one.

Ovie Soko led Shiga with game-highs of 26 points and 14 rebounds while Sean O’mara added 22 markers himself.

Their Filipino import, Kiefer Ravena, added 16 points and nine assists, one day after struggling for just five points.

It was a dominant performance for Shiga right from the opening period, where they scored a total of 31 points against just 12 for Nagoya.

They got out to a 13-3 lead with Ravena knocking down two triples in a starting role this time around. The Filipino subbed out of the game but returned later in the quarter, hitting a third three-pointer to spark a furious 11-2 finish for the Lakestars.

By halftime, their lead rose to 22 points on a Ravena buzzer-beater to end the second period that made it 54-32 for Shiga.

Ravena led Shiga with 16 points and four assists at the break while his counterpart of the Nagoya side, Ray Parks, only had two. This was also a reversal from Saturday’s matchup, where Parks scored 16 of his team-high 22 points in the first half.

Parks finished with seven points and three rebounds in this one.

Shiga kept the pressure on in the second half, carrying a whopping 27-point lead, 82-55, into the fourth despite four unanswered points for Nagoya to close the third.

A 22-7 start to the fourth quarter pushed the margin up to a high of 42 points, 104-62.

Shiga improved to 6-2 for the season while Nagoya dropped back to an even 4-4 card.
