Parks drops 13 in Nagoya loss to Shimane; Aquino's Shinshu, Javi GDL's Ibaraki extend losing skids

A day after their picking up a win, Ray Parks, Jr. and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins fell to Shimane Susanoo Magic, 94-86, in a rematch on Sunday in the Japan Professional Basketball League (B.League).

After the first half ended at 37-all, Shimane went on a 10-0 run midway in the third period to grab the lead 55-49. Nagoya fought back and closed the third quarter with just a six-point deficit, 66-60.

Shimane led by as much as 14 in the fourth quarter, 86-72, before they eventually shut down Nagoya.

Parks had 13 points and two boards, while Takumi Saito had 24 points in the Nagoya loss.

Reid Travis registered a double-double with 25 markers and 13 boards, while Perrin Bufford had 21 points and seven rebounds in the Shimane win.

Nagoya (9-7) will play Kyoto Hannaryz on Saturday.

In other games, Javi Gomez de Liaño had four points in the Ibaraki Robots' 111-103 loss against Chiba Jets. The loss was their fifth straight since winning against Osaka Evessa last November 7.

Matthew Aquino and the Shinshu Brave Warriors, on the other hand, lost to Utsonomiya Brex, 83-61. Aquino only played for 2:57 minutes in the loss.

Ibaraki (2-14) will play Shimane, while Shinshu (9-7) will go against Gunma Crane Thunders next weekend.
