Paras drops 16 but Niigata absorbs 26th straight loss; Parks' Nagoya extends winning streak

Kobe Paras finally broke out of shooting slump but his Niigata Albirex BB could not complete the win, falling to Levanga Hokkaido, 107-85, in the Japan B.League on Wednesday.

The second generation baller dropped 16 points on 60 percent shooting from the field in 20 minutes of play as his club absorbed its 26th straight defeat for a 2-27 win-loss card.

Three of Paras' teammates were also in double digits mark with Tshilidzi Nephawe and Rosco Allen erupting for 16 markers each while Jeff Ayres finished with 15.

Meanwhile, Ray Parks and his Nagoya Diamond Dolphins stretched their winning streak to three after ending Alvark Tokyo's 10-game run, 86-80, at the Arena Tachikawa Tachihi. Parks  had 10 points, four rebounds, and one assist.

Nagoya hiked their standing to 21-8, good for a fourth spot in the standings.

Another pair of Filipino reinforcements saw contrasting results on Wednesday's showcase.

Although still sidelined, Javi Gomez de Liaño and his Ibaraki Robots escaped Gunma Crane Thunders, 91-84, to end a five-game losing streak as they now improved to 6-23.

Chehales Tapscott led Ibaraki with 22 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists while Marc Trasolini chipped in 22 markers as well to go with nine boards and two dimes.

Matt Aquino, who plays as a local, and his Shinshu Brave Warriors endured a close loss to Ryukyu Golden Kings, 86-85, ending their two-game winning streak and sliding to 12-17.
