Japeth Aguilar drops 23 as Ginebra downs ROS to get second straight win

Japeth Aguilar posted 23 points as Barangay Ginebra took down Rain or Shine, 90-85, on Wednesday in the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Rain or Shine were trailing 87-82 before a split from LA Tenorio and free throws from Japeth Aguilar pushed their lead to eight points in the dying seconds of the match, and eventually handed them their second straight win of the conference.

On top of Aguilar's 23, the big man also made seven rebounds, while Christian Standhadinger tallied 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Mike Nieto topped Rain or Shine in scoring with 15 points, while Beau Belga had 14 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.

Ginebra (2-0) will face the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots in the Manila Clasico game on Sunday, while Rain or Shine (1-2) will go against Phoenix before the said match at the Mall of Asia Arena.
