Warriors close out Celtics in Game 6 to win NBA title

The Golden State Warriors beat the Boston Celtics 103-90 on Thursday to win the 2022 NBA Finals, capturing a fourth title in eight years and the seventh in franchise history.

The Warriors completed a 4-2 triumph in the best-of-seven championship series and became just the second visiting team to lift the trophy on Boston's home court, after the 1985 Los Angeles Lakers.

Steph Curry led the Warriors in the deciding game with 34 points, alongside seven rebounds and seven assists.

Andrew Wiggins added 18 points while Jordan Poole added 15 for Golden State.

Draymond Green added 12 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and two blocks.

Jaylen Brown, meanwhile, led the Celtics with 34 points.

The Warriors got off to a big first half as they held a 15-point advantage at the break, 54-39. The lead ballooned to 22 in the third period, before the Celtics countered with a 15-2 run that got the game back to within single-digits, 74-65.

But the Western Conference champs took care of business in the fourth period to clinch the title.
