Tim Cone joins Gilas Pilipinas coaching staff

Barangay Ginebra head coach Tim Cone is now part of Gilas Pilipinas' coaching staff.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) confirmed the news on Thursday, days after it was reported that Chot Reyes announced Cone's inclusion to the national team's coaching staff.

Cone last became part of the national team when he steered Gilas to a gold medal in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games held in Manila.

Gilas Pilipinas is set to compete in the third window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers, although Nenad Vucinic will handle the squad in the games which will be held on June 30 and July 3.

Just days after that, the national team will compete in the FIBA Asia Cup in Indonesia on July 12-24.
