Bay Area makes explosive introduction, routs Blackwater in Comm's Cup opener

The PBA guest team Bay Area Dragons made an explosive introduction for itself on Wednesday as the league opened the 2022 Commissioner's Cup.

The Dragons routed the Blackwater Bossing, 133-87, in the first game of the import-laden conference at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Bay Area started strong and outscored Blackwater 36-19 in the first 12 minutes of action. It was all Bay Area from then as Myles Powell powered the Dragons with 41 points and 8 rebounds.

Glen Yang tallied 22 markers, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds, while Songwei Zhu and Kobey Lam chipped in 13 points each.

Meanwhile, Ato Ular posted team-highs 13 points and 14 rebounds for Blackwater, while reinforcement Cameron Krutwig flirted with a triple double 12 rebounds, 11 points, and 8 assists.

Bay Area will return to action on Saturday when they face the NorthPort Batang Pier, while Blackwater will try to bounce back on the same day when they play the Phoenix Super LPG Fuelmasters.
