Terrafirma breaks 25-game losing skid via OT win against NLEX

The Terrafirma Dyip snapped its 25-game losing skid at the expense of the NLEX Road Warriors, 124-114, in overtime in the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Terrafirma led by as much as 17 points early in the third period before NLEX mounted a comeback. An Alex Cabagnot shot gave Terrafirma the 110-108 advantage with 36 ticks left before an Earl Clark layup tied the game five seconds later. Don Trollano tried to connect a triple for the win but failed, putting the game into extra period.

The Dyip then dominated overtime as it limited NLEX to just four points against their 10-point output.

Prior to this win, Terrafirma last won in the 2021-22 PBA Governors' Cup against Blackwater.

Import Lester Proper put up monster numbers with 50 points and 19 rebounds while Juami Tiongson flirted with a triple double after posting 18 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds. Eric Camson and Gelo Alolino chipped in 15 and 10 points each.

Meanwhile, Clark had 45 points and 18 rebounds, while Don Trollano and Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser made 26 and 22 points, respectively.

Terrafirma will face the San Miguel Beermen next on Wednesday, while the Road Warriors will go against Barangay Ginebra on Friday.
