San Miguel returns to winning ways, sends Phoenix to third straight loss

By BEA MICALLER

San Miguel snapped its two-game losing skid while adding to the woes of slumping Phoenix Super LPG, 108-104, in the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

There were plenty of heroes for the Beermen but a solid double-double from import Devon Scott proved crucial as he dropped 18 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one block to bring San Miguel back on the win column with a 4-5 card.

Simon Enciso was also pivotal as the veteran guard finished with 20 points, seven rebounds, and three assists while Marcio Lassiter and CJ Perez chipped in 20 and 16 markers each.

With the win, San Miguel sent the Fuel Masters to their third consecutive loss to go 5-6 in the ladder.

Phoenix got a 10-point and 13-rebound outing from reinforcement Kaleb Wesson as Javee Mocon paced them with 18 markers, seven boards, and a steal.
